Job Description
A high-volume Level II Trauma Center in Kentucky is seeking a skilled Emergency Medicine Physician for locum tenens coverage. The Emergency Department sees a large volume of diverse cases, with an average of 2.5–3 patients per hour. As part of a dynamic team, you will treat everything from minor injuries to life-threatening conditions in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities/Job Description:
- Provide rapid assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of acute illnesses and traumatic injuries in the emergency department
- Perform emergency procedures including airway management, resuscitation, and trauma stabilization
- Interpret diagnostic tests such as labs, EKGs, and imaging to guide urgent clinical decisions
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure timely and effective patient care
- Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with hospital and regulatory standards
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions
