A high-volume Level II Trauma Center in Kentucky is seeking a skilled Emergency Medicine Physician for locum tenens coverage. The Emergency Department sees a large volume of diverse cases, with an average of 2.5–3 patients per hour. As part of a dynamic team, you will treat everything from minor injuries to life-threatening conditions in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide care to patients with acute illnesses and injuries, stabilizing trauma and critical care cases.
- Work in a 30-bed Emergency Department with dedicated scribe support for efficient patient documentation.
- Collaborate with Advanced Practice Clinicians (APCs) during peak hours to ensure efficient patient flow.
- Coordinate with the hospital’s trauma and surgical teams to ensure timely transfers and interventions for critical cases.
Program Details:
- Annual Patient Volume: 55,000 patients per year.
- Patients Per Hour: 2.5–3 patients per hour.
- Shift Options: 6a-3p, 9a-6p, 12p-9p, 3p-12a, 5p-2a, 10p-7a.
- APC Coverage: 7a-7p, 11a-11p, 7p-7a.
- Scribe Coverage: Yes, to assist with EMR documentation using Medictech.
- Housing & Travel: Fully covered during the assignment.
- Licensing & Credentialing: Complete support, including malpractice coverage.
