A leading hospital in Indiana is seeking a skilled Emergency Medicine Physician to join their high-volume emergency department on a locum tenens basis. The ER sees a wide range of cases, from minor injuries to severe trauma, in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
Key Responsibilities/Job Description:
- Provide rapid assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of acute illnesses and traumatic injuries in the emergency department
- Perform emergency procedures including airway management, resuscitation, and trauma stabilization
- Interpret diagnostic tests such as labs, EKGs, and imaging to guide urgent clinical decisions
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure timely and effective patient care
- Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with hospital and regulatory standards
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions
